APGL has celebrated IFED 2015 during its annual national gathering in SETE in the south of France, on May 15 th 2015. 210 persons – adults, teenagers, children and babies – families and families-be-to-, have made the trip from all over France and APGL’s local organizations to be part of this event.
This year IFED was truly the occasion to celebrate two good news. APGL has been officially appointed as active member of UNAF, the French National Organization in charge of Families Affairs – a governmental NGO dealing with public authorities for all matters regarding Families issues, after a lengthy process marked by two unsuccessful attempts when LGBT families were considered by UNAF officials as “abnormal” families!, and in SETE, the week before APGL’s gathering, the French Reformed Church (main protestant church organization), had approved by an awesome majority of same sex marriages and baptisms of children of LGBT families.
