Rebecca Willman (she/her) is the Chief Community Engagement and Program Officer for Family Equality. She has spent most of her adult life ensuring bodily and emotional autonomy for individuals and families. Before joining Family Equality, she worked at Abortion Care Network supporting the sustainability of community-based abortion clinics and creating a strong and thriving national network of local abortion providers and allies. Before that, she spent many years working in clinics providing direct care to abortion and reproductive health seekers.
Rebecca also spent many years as a birth worker, supporting people through pregnancy, labor, and the early postpartum. A former academic, she has published, taught, and researched in the fields of reproductive health and freedom, gender, and sexuality.
Grounded in empathy, intersectionality, generosity and a bias toward action, Rebecca seeks to live and move through the world in a way that fosters racial justice and freedom for LGBTQ individuals and families. A queer cis-femme married to a trans- non-binary partner (aka, Al, the love of her life!), Rebecca is a mom to twin toddlers who make her life more full, beautiful and complex everyday.
